It’s another day of Lawn Fawn’s Winter 2026 Inspiration and Release Week, and today we’re introducing Gingerbread House, Gingerbread House Add-On, Gingerbread Border and Scripty Sweet Outline Add-On!
For my second card featuring the new Gingerbread Border, I gave those adorable little gingerbread people centre stage. Instead of using the full border as a background, I trimmed it down to a row of five and placed them across a soft vellum shaker filled with tiny stars.
Make sure to also check out my other two projects for today – a completely different take on Gingerbread Border and a project featuring Gingerbread House and Scripty Sweet Outline Add-On.
The new Winter 2026 products will be available on October 1.

About This Project
For my second project featuring the new Gingerbread Border, I used the little gingerbread people in a completely different way and made them the focal point of the card.
I die-cut the Gingerbread Border once and trimmed it down to a row of five gingerbread people. I used Kraft and Ground Coffee Cardstock for the two layers, which brings out all of the little stitched and die-cut details while keeping the gingerbread men fairly simple and neutral.
I placed them across a Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Frame, which I turned into a shallow vellum shaker. Using vellum instead of a completely clear shaker window softens the star confetti behind the gingerbread people and keeps the background subtle enough for them to remain the focus.
I deliberately kept the shaker quite flat, which makes the finished card much easier to mail. The trade-off is that the shaker pieces have less room to move and may occasionally catch against the vellum. If you prefer lots of shaker movement, simply add more depth behind the window with an additional layer of foam tape.
For the background, I used Simple Stripes: Diagonal with a mixture of off-white and cream cardstock scraps. I added very narrow strips of Gold Sparkle Cardstock wherever the different colours meet. I simply cut these with my paper trimmer, so they aren’t all exactly the same width – but it was a quick and easy way to add a little sparkle and define the diagonal pattern.
Finally, I white heat embossed the season’s greetings sentiment from Scribbled Sentiments: Winter directly onto the vellum shaker window. The soft neutral colours, touches of gold and muted shaker background give this card quite a different look from my first Gingerbread Border project.
