Lawn Fawn Fall Inspiration & Release Week – Cute Acorn Platform Pop-Up Shaker Card

We’re continuing with the Lawn Fawn Fall Inspiration & Release Week, and after featuring the adorable new Fall Mice in my first project, this second card highlights even more of today’s new products: Outside In Stitched Acorn, Stitched Acorn Frame, Leaf and Acorn Border and Scripty Thanks Outline Add-On.

I combined them with the Platform Pop-Up die to create a dimensional autumn card that folds flat for mailing but pops up into a freestanding display. The focal point is a large acorn shaker, and instead of acetate or vellum I used tulle for the shaker window, which keeps the whole element nice and flat while still allowing the sequins to move freely.

I kept the colour palette soft with pink, beige, light brown and gold, and added plenty of sparkle for a delicate autumn look.

About This Project

I created a Platform Pop-Up card, which folds completely flat for mailing but opens into a dimensional freestanding display. I cut the platform itself from Speckled Eggshell Cardstock, which adds a little extra texture thanks to its subtle speckled finish.

The large acorn is the main focal point. I used the Outside In Stitched Acorn together with the Stitched Acorn Frame to create the shaker element. To keep the shaker as flat as possible, I used tulle instead of acetate or vellum. I simply adhered the Stitched Acorn Frame directly onto the tulle and, once the adhesive had dried, trimmed away the excess around the edges. This kept the construction very simple while still allowing the Iridescent Sequin Mix to move freely inside.

I cut the acorn cap from Sparkle Cardstock – Kraft and added the bow from Big Hugs Ghost for an extra decorative detail. Around the large acorn, I scattered smaller acorns from the Stitched Acorn Frame set together with leaves from the Leaf and Acorn Border. I cut some of the leaves from Sparkle Cardstock – Gold to add a little extra shimmer to the autumn scene.

For the sentiment, I die cut Scripty Thanks from pink cardstock and layered it with the new Scripty Thanks Outline Add-On. I first added Ranger Star Dust Stickles for sparkle and, once that had dried, covered it with Ranger Glossy Accents. That combination gives the sentiment both shimmer and a glossy, dimensional finish.

I kept the overall colour palette soft with pink, beige, light brown and gold, which gives the card a delicate autumn feel while still letting all the glittery details stand out.
