Interactive autumn card featuring the Lawn Fawn Big Hugs Pop-Up bear playing in colourful autumn leaves.

We’re continuing with Lawn Fawn’s Fall Inspiration & Release Week, and today’s spotlight is on the brand-new Big Hugs Pop-Up die. I had so much fun creating with this amazing interactive die that I ended up making three different cards—this is the first one!

I kept the card front fairly clean with two little bears playing in the leaves, giving just a little hint of what’s waiting inside. Open the card, and the real surprise appears: a playful bear pops up from a colourful pile of autumn leaves, bringing the whole scene to life.

Let’s take a closer look!

About This Project

I created this card using the brand-new Big Hugs Pop-Up die, which instantly becomes the focal point when the card is opened. The little bear pops up from a colourful pile of autumn leaves, looking as though he’s having the best time jumping and playing in the autumn leaves. I even added a tiny leaf to his nose for an extra playful detail.

On the card front, I kept the design fairly clean with two little bears from Let’s Go Nuts playing in the leaves, giving just a little hint of what’s waiting inside. I heat-embossed the sentiment in gold, where it begins with “Jump for Joy” before continuing inside the card with Scripty Fall and the Scripty Fall Outline Add-On.

Inside the card, I used the new Leaf and Acorn Border die to create lots of colourful leaves surrounding the pop-up bear. I also used patterned paper from the Favourite Flannel Fall Petite Paper Pack from last year’s Fall Release to tie the whole design together. I finished the bear’s eyes with Ranger Glossy Accents and added touches of Ranger Stardust Stickles to the leaves for a subtle sparkle.

A little tip: If you’d like to decorate the bear with leaves or other embellishments, make sure to attach them behind the bear’s arms rather than on top of them. Otherwise, any attached element will catch on the mechanism when the card is closed.
