Lawn Fawn Fall Inspiration & Release Week – Interactive: Hocus Purr-cus Peekaboo Pop-Up Card

Interactive Halloween card featuring Lawn Fawn Giant Hocus Pocus, Hocus Purr-cus and a Peekaboo Pop-Up surprise scene.

Welcome to Lawn Fawn’s Fall Inspiration & Release Week! Throughout the week, Lawn Fawn will be showcasing the brand-new products from the Fall Release, and today’s inspiration features the adorable new Hocus Purr-cus! stamp set together with the Giant Hocus Pocus sentiment.  I couldn’t resist to create an interactive Peekaboo Pop-up card with a fun surprise. At first glance, the sparkling sentiment takes centre stage, but once you pull the card open, the full magical scene is revealed.

The playful sentiment “I put a spell on mew” makes it look as though the little witch kitty has just cast a spell on the tiny spider, adding a fun story to the interactive scene. I kept the colours soft with pale pinks, warm greys and plenty of sparkle to give this spooky design a cute rather than scary feel.

Let’s take a closer look!

About This Project

I created this card using the Peekaboo Pop-Up die, which brings the magical scene to life as the card opens. As the mechanism unfolds, the little witch kitty swings up on her spellbook towards the tiny spider, making it look as though she’s flying in to cast her spell. The playful sentiment “I put a spell on mew” completes the story and ties the interactive scene together perfectly.

To build the magical setting, I ink blended the background in soft pink tones, added some shimmery Liquid Stardust splatters, and used the Cobblestone Stencil to create a stone floor for the little witch’s workspace. The sparkling Cute Cobweb in the top corner frames the scene beautifully, while the sparkling Giant Hocus Pocus sentiment creates a bold focal point.

I also mixed in images from Sweet SpidersFangtastic Friends and Fangtastic Friends Add-On to add extra spiders and moths throughout the scene. To make the potion bottles look like real glass, I covered them with Ranger Glossy Accents. Finally, I added quite a bit of Prisma Glitter to my images for plenty of shimmer and magic.
